Story Analysis Workshop: Reverse Engineering Black Mirror
For guidance we turn to a very well known tv series: Black Mirror. Together we do a reverse engineering analysis of multiple episodes of the dystopian tv series. We analyse the cinematographic story, but also how fictional worlds are created and speculative objects are designed.

What, how why, inspired by Simon Sinek’s ‘Golden Circle’
Step-by-step we peel the onion and we get closer to the core. We go from the ‘what’ (the episode), to the ‘how’ (the story ingredients) and finally to the ‘why’ (the urgent theme) of the story. Participants get to work with markers and large sheets of paper to unravel the stories.
In the workshop participants learn to make a visual analyses. It helps storytellers, but also artists and designers, to structure their stories as well as their creative proces, and make their work more layered.
